Port City WBC Weekly News 18th July

Tuesday 16^th July was a great day weatherwise for the start of the Major/Minors Pairs.
Faye Schollum wof. Shirley Devine d Ella Wright, Jan Gauld d Trish Mitchell, Joy Barry d Adriana Cutler, Judy Scholz d Mary Norman.
The following ladies had byes – Robyn Biddle, Elaine Hercus
Karen McFarlane, Grace Greenaway, Lois Bishell, Barbara Barrett,
Gail Carmody, Barbara Griffiths.

There were two matches played in the Club Triples today.

Debbie Amor d Robyn Biddle in the semi-finals.
Barbara Barrett d Elaine Eames in the quarter-finals.

Barbara Barrett will now play Maureen Cutting in the semi-finals on Saturday to determine the other finalist.

Congratulations to Carol White on reaching the third round of the Champion of Club Champion Singles at Oak Flats today. We are all very proud of her effort.

Happy Birthday to Frances Green, Eveline Ramsay and Beth Hicks who had birthdays this week.

Dawn Olsen’s husband passed away last week and our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family and friends at this time

Minor Pairs opened today and we encourage all minors to enter as we need at least 12 pairs for the event to be held.

The Minor Pairs will close on 6^th August and will be played on 20^th August.

Westport Gala Day will be held on Thursday 25^th July.

Handicap Triples will be held on Tuesday, 30^th July.

Names in or out by 8.00 am on Tuesdays 6583 1153.
