Port City Men's Bowling Club news report for the week ending Sunday 21st July.
The AGM of the Port City Men’s Bowling Club was held on Saturday 20th of July starting at 9.30am . Results of voting are as follows :- President Paul Brady, Senior Vice President Trevor Scholz , Vice President John Rossiter, Bowls Organiser Garry Lawer , Secretary David Lomas , Treasurer Ralph Eriksson , Committee (3) Terry Schollum , Greg Keft , Keith Ashdown; Selectors (4) Bryce Stewart , Trevor Scholz , Bob Counsell , Keith Hall; Welfare Tom Cornforth . Great weather again today for games 3 & 4 of the Australian Unity Prestige Men's Pairs at Port City.

6 teams are now on 4 wins and it could depend on margins after the 5th game. Last year Ken Paulsen and Tony Miller took out the tournament with 5 wins + 50 shots.

NSW Women's State Pennant Finals
The 2013 NSW Women's Pennant finals will be held on Monday 12th - Friday 16th August in the Port Stephens area. (date for start of finals corrected - thanks to Des Hancox who wins the reader award for the day!)

The Australian Unity $10,450 Men's Prestige Pairs starts this Wednesday 17th July at Port City. With an open draw this tournament has 5 games of 21 ends finishing at noon on Friday 19th July.

District Champion of Club Champions
The following update has been received from Alex Kair, LNC District Bowls Co-ordinator, regarding the Champion of Club Champions in singles & pairs.
"Due to the over booking it has been decided to play the champion of club champions singles on Sat. 17th - Sun. 18th August at Port City and the pairs on Sat. 24th - Sun. 25th August at Westport."
These are always competitive events - come out and support your club's champions.

Open Singles at Park Beach
The $30,000 Open Singles at Park Beach BC is now into the 3rd day of play in Coffs Harbour.
With some well known bowlers such as Burkett, Holt, McGillivray & Turley through to this round it promises to be a popular tournament again this year.

Lawn Bowls fights Equal Opportunity Tribunal Demand in SA
Lawn bowlers are fighting an Equal Opportunity Tribunal ruling the competition in South Australia must abandon single-sex teams.
The Tribunal ruled last year that Bowls SA must abolish separate male and female competitions by 2014 or risk being in breach of the Equal Opportunity Act.

Winter Mixed Pairs at Westport
The annual Winter Mixed Pairs was played at Westport this weekend under clear sunny skies. Port City's Jennifer Munson & Geoff Worley took out 1st place with an impressive 4 wins and a margin of 62 shots.
