Port City WBC Weekly News 9th May

 



On Tuesday 7^th May we played Social Bowls and two more rounds of the Club Pairs. Social Bowls were washed out after about 15 ends and the Club Pairs had to leave the greens for a while, but managed to complete their games. Margaret Walsh def Barbara Barrett, Beth Schubert def Beth Hicks.

On Thursday 9^th May Carol White will play Debbie Amor and Pat Light will play Fay Martin.

 

Entries for the Club Fours closed today and the draw is on the board. The first round will be played on Tuesday 21^st May.

Fay Walsh will have a birthday next week. We were sorry to hear that Bonnie Weatherley has had another fall and hurt her arm.

Lucky Rink Winners – 1^st Jenny Devitt, Jan Creak, Fay Walsh - 2nd Margaret Fowler, Ingrid Code, Jan Gauld. Consolation - Wendy Elliott, Helen Cooper, Barbara Owens.

Raffle Winners – 1^st Enid Ingram - 2^nd Maureen Scholz.

50’s Club Winners – 1^st Carol Bowman, 2^nd Carol Banks, 3^rd Anne Connell.

Panthers Gala Day is on Wednesday 22^nd May.

There will be no Social Bowls next week due to the Port City Open Singles being played on Monday 13^th – Thursday 16^th May.

We need more markers for these games, so pleases put your name down if you are able to mark.

Nominations are open for District Office Bearers – see noticeboard.

Versatility 5’s will close on 24^th May and be played on Monday 3^rd June and Tuesday 4th June and three more workers will be needed for the kitchen.

On 28^th May we will be holding the Biggest Morning Tea.

We are short of spiders and would appreciate any donations.

Handicap Triples will be held on 30^th July.
