Port City WBC Weekly News 30th May

The Biggest Morning Tea was held at 9.00 am on Tuesday 28^th May. There was a great variety of scones, slices and muffins to choose from and an amount of $360 was raised from the morning tea. Also included in this amount were the proceeds from a raffle of beautiful towels donated by Joy Surrey OAM and a spider on the green for the Cancer Council. Marie Bignell won the towels.

Despite early showers Social Bowls was held and another round of the Club Fours Championship. Results as follows - L Thompson def R Biddle - B Schubert def F Martin - J Scholz def P Light - D Amor def E Hercus.
The next round will be on Saturday, 1^st June between Debbie Amor and Judy  -Scholz.

There were three birthday girls this week – Val Bott, Ingrid Code and Gail Carmody.

Versatility Fives will be played on Monday 3^rd and Tuesday 4^th June.  We are still needing helpers in the kitchen and to help set up the tables and would be grateful if you could put your name down if you are willing to help. Thanks to all who donated spiders for the event.

Club Triples open Tuesday 28^th May, close 18^th June and will be played on 2nd July.

It is the Port Macquarie City WBC Birthday on Tuesday 11th June and we will be welcoming District representatives to our club to present the Pennant Badges to our successful Grade 1 and Grade 2 District Pennant Winners.

On 17th and 18th June the Regional Pennant Playoff will take place at Wingham. Congratulations to our Grade 1 and Grade 2 District Pennant Winners, who will be representing us.

Congratulations to Carol White, who will be representing the club in the Regional Singles Play-off at Westport on Thursday 27^th June.  Good Luck Carol.

Our AGM will be held on Monday 15^th July in the Function Room upstairs at the club. We encourage all members to consider nominating for committee next year and the Nomination Forms are on the board.

The Handicap Triples will be held on Tuesday 30^th July. The sheet is on the noticeboard containing all the members’ names and their grading. Please check to see if you have been picked up or if you would like to make up a team. Remember that the total must not be less than 9.

There will be no social bowls next Saturday due to the playing of the men’s Club Singles Championships. Markers are needed for Saturday at 9.00 am
