Kew Men's Bowling ClubFrosty is scheduled for his operation at Prince of Wales Hospital on Monday morning and is likely to stay in hospital a further 5 days. Get well quick Frosty, we’re all missing you and wish you a speedy recovery.
Wednesday Social Bowls saw Cliff Kerr and Phil Collins grab the winners envelops. Runners Up were Ray Pantlin, Bob Kennett and Barrie Isaac. Off to the butchers with lucky vouchers were Terry Miles, Wayne Thrussell, Pete Griffith, Ian Orr and Jeff Wylie.
Men's Division 4 Pennants commenced on Thursday, and saw our two teams competing. Kew Red defeated Kew Blue 44-37 on the Master Board, with each side winning one rink. Steve Mantell’s Blue team were successful against Wayne Thrussell’s Red team, while Rocky out wicked Ray Allan to claim victory for his Red side.

In the Saturday Cashpot Triples Denis Squires, Pat Lendrum, and Mark Hammond bolted out the door with the cash. Marg Ashford, Steve McGregor and Michael Ashford claimed second spot, while John Gemmell, Brian Kirkwood and Dean Gemmell came third. Voucher winners were Steve McGregor, Marg Ashford, Kim Thompson and Pete Griffith.
Our AGM was held on Sunday 6th August. Barrie Isaac (President), Chicka Thompson (Vice President), Tony Austin (Treasurer), David Napper (Secretary) and Frank Raczka (Bowls Co-Ordinator) were returned as Office Bearers. The new Committee consists of Peter Laing, John Smith, Rod Quirk and Andrew Richards. Gary (Sparra) Cheers, Dave Jones and Frank Raczka were appointed as Selectors. Minutes will be available from Dave Napper.
An “unreliable source” tells me that Stewart Rogan is now available for Coaching Classes. His drawing sessions are highly regarded, with Stewart supplying the crayons. Book early to avoid disappointment.
Up Coming Events include Monday Monthly Pairs on Monday 7th August, and Club Pairs commencing Sunday 20th August. Check the notice board for the draw.
Bowls this week are Wednesday Social and Friday Jackpot Triples, names in by 11.30 for a 12.30 start mufti dress, all welcome. To enter ring Chicka 0423787325, Pete 0413052684 or text Frank 0417698899.
