Farewell ‘Lovely and Gracious’ Queen |
|
Bowls NSW is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ll. Bowls NSW shares a long history with Her Majesty beginning in 1954 with her first official visit to Australia. In February 1954 on the first of sixteen official visits to Australia, Her Majesty met the then-current President of the Association Mr. Norman Noss. Mr. Noss was invited to represent the NSW Bowling Association and its fifty thousand bowling members at an official garden party and the Lord Mayor’s Ball. Mr. Noss reported to members of the event at the next council meeting “There is no doubt gentlemen that her majesty is lovely and gracious. She is everything that you and I used to dream about as our fairy queen”. “I think this visit of hers has done us an immense amount of good and has shown the close ties of loyalty we have with the crown”.
Bowls NSW Ltd acknowledges the Australian Government’s decision to announce a National Day of Mourning on Thursday 22nd September to recognise the service of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II following her passing. The National Day of Mourning has also been recognised as a National public holiday.
Accordingly, any Bowls NSW Association event matches scheduled on this day MUST be rescheduled with participants to be given at least 6 days’ notice of the new playing date, as per the Bowls NSW CoP. Bowls NSW Association events are covered in the Bowls NSW CoP and include any Pennant and State events.
Club competitions scheduled for this day may be run at the discretion of the club, however Bowls NSW highly recommends that any club competition matches be postponed. Click here to read more |

Bowls NSW Volunteer Survey |
|
Like many sports, lawn bowls relies on the support of our wonderful volunteers at grassroots level to help run clubs, competitions and everything in between. Bowls NSW wants to hear from members about their experiences being a volunteer within the sport for their club, zone, district or Bowls NSW. Responses will be used to aid our submission to the NSW Volunteer Taskforce gathering feedback and opinions on how organisations like Bowls NSW can further improve its work with and for volunteers. The NSW Volunteer Taskforce seeks to identify and consider emerging trends, and priorities for action based on the needs, challenges and opportunities across the NSW Volunteering Sector. Through the information it receives, the Taskforce will deliver a NSW Volunteering Taskforce Report, including recommendations for action. We kindly ask that members click the link below and fill in the survey in as much detail as possible. The survey takes approximately six minutes to complete. Help KENO Build a Stronger Partnership with Your Club |
|
Keno wants to hear what its NSW bowls club partners think about Keno to better understand how venues view their relationship and become a more strategic partner.
Keno will be sending out its 2022 Pulse Survey during September and invites your team to share your thoughts. An email will be sent to clubs with a link to the survey. Responses can be anonymous unless your venue chooses to identify itself. “While our past results are encouraging, Keno is committed to continually improving on previous results and enhancing our offerings to our partners during 2022. We look forward to your team sharing their insights with us,” says General Manager for Keno’s Licensed Venue Operations, Paul Malek.
Over the past four years, Keno has significantly improved its relationships and advocacy across the board: its Net Promoter Score increased from +5 in 2018 to +33 in 2021. The 2021 survey revealed that the strength of Keno’s relationships remains robust, and while COVID-19 significantly impacted the ability to grow them, 47% of venues are promoters of Keno. In addition, 43% of venues said they feel like they have a partnership with Keno. The growing strength of partnerships is supported by 7% more venues viewing Keno as strategic or business partner since 2018.
Look out for the email and have your say. |
