Lake Cathie Women's Bowling Club

Hello Ladies,

An exciting week of bowls coming up, starting off with the final of the Minor Pairs on Tuesday. Sue Chisholm and Chris Baldwin play off against Margaret Avery and Carol James. Good luck to all players may the best team win!

Social Bowls and Minor Pairs Championship
Tuesday, February 8
Lucky Rink Winners were Susan Malzard, Sharon Stokmanis, Anne Armstrong and Jill Howard. Runners Up were Lyn Watson, Wendy Sharples and Debbie Smith.

Minor Pairs Semi Final
Sue Chisholm and Chris Baldwin defeated Patricia Cahill and Beverley Ascot-Evans.
Margaret Avery and Carol James defeated Corrine Dixon and Margaret Duhigg.

Major Pairs
Denise Rutherford has asked me to remind you that entries for the Major Pairs close on Tuesday. She would like to see more entries before the draw closes. If you would like to play and don’t have a partner please contact Denise who may be able to pair you up.

Pennant. Pennant. Pennant.

The expression of interest sheet for this year’s Pennant Comp is still missing some much needed players. If you are unsure whether or not to put your name up, have a chat to Selection, they will explain the pennant format to you. Personally speaking my first pennant season was a fabulous experience, playing with, and building bonds with my team, meeting bowlers from the district and enjoying the differing greens was a great way of feeling a true part of our Club. If you cannot commit to the full season, Reserve players are also required.

Events Calendar

The 2022 Events Calendar is now available and being circulated. Our thanks go to Denise, Susan, Anne and Judi for their hard work in bringing this to fruition.

Donations Please
Over the next two Tuesdays (15th and 22nd) Marilyn Heslehurst will be collecting donations for the Women’s Refuge. Toiletries and/or money donations are acceptable and would be greatly appreciated.

Sending our best wishes to all members who are unwell or recovering. See you soon!

Cheers
