Port City WBC Weekly News

 

Back to Bowls on Tuesday and Vice President Gail welcomed 46 eager players. She gave new bowler Sandy Mahon a warm welcome and also a visitor from Maroochydore Elizabeth Schroeder. It was also great to see Barbara Campbell back after her long vacation.

Lucky rink winners were Noelene Williams, Beth Hicks, Shirley Devine and Adriana Cutler.
Coming out in second place were Daphne Sumsky, Kerry Bolsover and Robin Kean.
Consolation: - Barbara Campbell, Rosemary Roach, Norma Schwartz and Robyn Biddle.

Raffle winners: - Margaret Edwards, Eveline Ramsay and Ann Kirk

Birthday Greetings to Betty Hodgson and Ann Kirk, hope you had a lovely day.

Just a reminder that the Open and Seniors Fours will be held on Wednesday 14th January at Port Panthers and not as listed in the calendar. The triples will be played on the 20th, please check the board to see where you are playing.

Chairperson of the Board Robyn Biddle gave a report on the last board meeting. Contents can be viewed on the notice board or at Reception and it will also be on the Port City Website.

Australia Day Monday 26th – Damper and Billy Tea 9.30am and bowls start 10.00 $45 a team includes lunch and 18 ends. Australiana is the dress code. Lots of prizes.
Alternatively Breakfast at Settlement Point $7.00. Please give your names to Robyn Biddle for catering purposes.

To any of our members or their families who are not very well, we wish you a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing you back at the club soon.
