The last question was: In a 25 up singles tournament a player scores 4 on the last end to win 27-23. What is the margin? The choices were 4 shots (reflecting the actual scoring in the game) or 2 shots if the recorded score is 25 - 23.

The last question was 'A bowl delivered on the correct bias on another rink will make contact with the mat. You should -' stop the bowl / lift the mat / take no action. 75% voted to stop the bowl.
The correct answer is that you should lift the mat - Law 19.2.5 states "--- any player on the rink on which the mat is being used can lift it so that the bowl can pass then replace the mat in its original position".
The new question concerns singles tournament scoring with winners decided on wins and margin.

Open Bowls Policy
Open Bowls is defined as a competition that does not discriminate based on gender, age, religion, race, culture, disability or any other trait. For example, where a competition allows for both genders to participate in an event concurrently, open competition does not need to be staged.
Victoria has had Open Bowls for some time and I believe SA has recently introduced this policy.

The last question concerned a short bowl - "A delivered bowl comes to rest 13.5 metres from the mat. Is it still a live bowl?" The answer is 'no'. The minimum length is 14 metres as measured in a straight line from the centre of the mat to the nearest point on the bowl. (refer law 27.1.3)
The new question concerns a bowl, on the correct bias, from a neighbouring rink that will make contact with the mat.
Until such time as the new law book is available reference will be made to the existing 2nd edition.
