Tuesday was a lovely day for
a game of bowls, with not even a breeze. It was the final of the Consistency
Singles played between Judy Brady and Karen McFarlane. It was a close game but
Judy got in the lead and defeated Karen. Congratulations to both of you on
reaching the finals.
Everyone else played a game
of triples and the lucky rink winners were Margaret Fowler, Jill Fuller and
Betty Hodgson. Runners-up Lynne Robertson, Rita Koenig and Shirley Devine.
Consolation prize went to Maureen Orsulich, Marion Miller and Beth Schubert.

The first prize in the
raffles went to Rita Koenig, 2nd Lorraine Conroy and 3rd
Shirley Devine.
Secretary Judy wishes to
advise she has received the new affiliation cards.
There won’t be any social
bowls next Tuesday 4th November because of the Special Melbourne Cup
Day activities. The week after – 11th is the Quarterly Meeting to be
held after bowls. Gala Day is on the 18th November and Encouragement
Day 25th.
We are running short of
spider prizes so if anyone has anything to donate it would be appreciated.
It’s that time of year again
and we will be putting out the boxes for donations to the Salvation Army. This
year they are asking that we do not wrap the gifts. There will be 2 boxes – one
for gifts and one for non perishable food items. The boxes will go out on the
11th November.
To any of our members or
their families who are not very well, we wish you a speedy recovery and look
forward to seeing you back at the club soon.
