Winners of the Handicap Triples: - Shirley Devine, Gail Carmody and Jo Jenkins - Runners-up were Jenny Wallis, Frances Green and Barbara Standen.
We held our Daffodil Day on Tuesday 2nd
September and welcomed District President Diana Upcroft and Panthers President
Robyn Crosariol. There were 66 players including visitors from Westport,
Wauchope and Panthers Bowling Clubs. Club Limited donated the Green Fees of
$490.00, and we held a Trading Table, Raffles and a Spider and the overall
proceeds of over $1400 were donated to The Cancer Council.
Our next non-player’s
morning tea is on 14th October
Once
again our Coca Cola Triples Carnival was a terrific success with many of our
Port City Teams getting into the prizemoney. On Day one the First Prize went to
Lake Cathie and on Day two the winners were Margaret Walsh, Denise Gudgeon and
Eleanore Russell. Out of the twelve prize winners there were 7 teams from Port
City. Many thanks to Neville Schwartz for umpiring and Eric Durrant for working
out the results on both days.
Congratulations
to Carol White who has been accepted into the Over 60’s State Team to play at
Tweed Heads Bowls Club 7th – 10th October. We’re all wishing you the best of
good luck and good bowling Carol.
Circuit training with
Shirley and Margaret is on every Friday morning at 10.00 am.
The Pennant list is
on the board and will be taken down on the 21st October.
Hastings vs MacLeay
will be held at Port Panthers 23rd & 24th October and
representing our club are Lynne Thompson (Singles) Robyn Biddle, Margaret
Doyle, Eveline Ramsay and Faye Schollum (Fours)
