Test your Knowledge

The last question on the test poll concerned a drive that rebounded from the face of the bank and, on returning to the green, touched the jack - was it then a toucher? The majority of answers were "no" and this is the correct answer. The bowl, unless a toucher, is dead once it rebounds from the face of the bank, and cannot be a toucher. (refer law 27.1.2). Well done to all !
If it was a toucher prior to rebounding it would still be a live bowl and would remain on the green.
The next "test your knowledge" concerns moving the mat and the jack during the game.

Port City WBC Weekly News

Luckily the weather held out for us on Tuesday as we had more Minor Singles Championships being played as well as the first round of the Consistency Singles.
Results of the Minor Singles played Thursday: - Lorraine Cannon def Wendy Elliott, Mary Bennett def Eleanore Russell, further results - Wendy Kennedy def Barbara Owens and Barbara Standen def Lynne Robertson, Mary Bennett def Denise Franklin. Weather permitting the final will be played on Tuesday 14th October.

Test your Knowledge

The previous poll asked "Can you give the mat away in the first end if you win the toss?" Well done! - the majority of answers (88%) were correct with a "yes" vote (refer law 18.2 Tossing for opening play.)

See the new question on the right regarding a drive rebounding from the face of the bank. Before rebounding it misses all bowls and the jack. (sorry I couldn't add this note with limited space in the question.)
