ENCOURAGEMENT DAY

On Tuesday 26^th November we held our Encouragement Day for bowlers who have been playing for less than 5 years. There were 28 teams entered for this event from the following clubs. Forster, Tuncurry, Kew, Taree Railway, Blackhead, Old Bar, South West Rocks, Kempsey Heights, Wingham, Lake Cathie, Coffs Ex Services, Westport, North Haven and Port City. Results as follows:–

Overall First Place – Joy Vibert, Floss Hevston, Roe Martin, Donna Clark (Composite team from South West Rocks/Kempsey Heights).

Overall Second Place – Joan Gibbs, Olwyn Lambert, Michele Trennick, Carmen Smith (Taree Railway).

Overall Third Place – Pamela Gilkison, Pat Hanlon, Liz Gray, Marion Wilson (Tuncurry).

Overall Fourth Place – Jo Jenkins, Linda Wright, Wendy Kennedy, Barbara Standen (Composite Team from Lake Cathie/Port City).

PM Winners – Di Laughton, Di Blanch, Gloria Jeffery, Chris Peters (Composite Team from Tuncurry/Blackhead).

AM Winners – Di Spinks, Anna Innes, Mary Simmonds, Robin Jones (Lake Cathie).

On Tuesday 19^th November we held a very successful Gala Day and a cheque for over $1350 was presented to our District President. 

CHRISTMAS PARTY

Next Tuesday 10^th December we will be having our breakup Christmas Party, followed by a concert. This will be an informal day and you are invited to play in your Christmas gear. The sheet is on the board and you can enter a team, or single entry. Cost will be $10 for the day, regardless of whether you play or just have lunch.

There is still time to make a donation to our Christmas Hampers for the Salvation Army. 

 

Bowls will resume Tuesday 7^th January 2014 

NSW NSW V QUEENSLAND TEST

 29^th – 30^th January Port City will host a NSW versus Queensland Test and we encourage you to come and watch some very good bowling.

STATE EVENTS - 2014 

14-16 January – State Fours – (Final at North Haven)

 21-23 January – State Triples (Final at Wauchope

4–6 February – State Singles (Final at North Haven)

11-13 – State Pairs (Final at Westport)

PENNANTS 2014

Pennants will commence on Monday 24^th February 2014.

CHRISTMAS JOKE

It's a romantic full moon, when Pedro said, "Hey, mamacita, let's do Weeweechu."
Oh no, not now, let's look at the moon!" said Rosita.
Oh, c'mon baby, let's you and I do Weeweechu. I love you and it's the perfect time," Pedro begged.
"But I wanna just hold your hand and watch the moon." replied Rosita.
Please, corazoncito, just once, do Weeweechu with me."
Rosita looked at Pedro and said, "OK, one time, we'll do Weeweechu."
Pedro grabbed his guitar and they both sang.....
"Weeweechu a Merry Christmas, Weeweechu a Merry Christmas, Weeweechu a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year."
