Port City WBC Weekly News

On Tuesday 26th November we held our Encouragement Day for bowlers who have been playing for less than 5 years. There were 28 teams entered for this event from the following clubs:- Forster, Tuncurry, Kew, Taree Railway, Blackhead, Old Bar, South West Rocks, Kempsey Heights, Wingham, Lake Cathie, Coffs Ex Services, Westport, North Haven and Port City.Results as follows –

Overall First Place – Joy Vibert, Floss Hevston, Roe Martin, Donna Clark (Composite team from South West Rocks/Kempsey Heights).

Overall Second Place – Joan Gibbs, Olwyn Lambert, Michele Trennick, Carmen Smith (Taree Railway).

Overall Third Place – Pamela Gilkison, Pat Hanlon, Liz Gray, Marion Wilson (Tuncurry).

Overall Fourth Place – Jo Jenkins, Linda Wright, Wendy Kennedy, Barbara Standen (Composite Team from Lake Cathie/Port City).

PM Winners – Di Laughton, Di Blanch, Gloria Jeffery, Chris Peters (Composite Team from Tuncurry/Blackhead).

AM Winners – Di Spinks, Anna Innes, Mary Simmonds, Robin Jones (Lake Cathie).

140’s Club Winners – 1^st – Bronwyn Vick, 2^nd – Joy Vibert, 3^rd Kay Erby, 4^th Vicki Bayliss, 5^th Mary Simmonds, 6^th Angela Stone.

Raffle Winners – 1^st Trish Walker, 2^nd Barbara Standen, 3^rd Jan Opitz, 4^th Vicki Bayliss, 5^th Carmel Ellam, 6^th Pat Hamlom, 7th Gloria Jeffery, 8^th Trish Welsh, 9^th Ellen Orrass, 10^th Judy Meyer, 11^th Olwyn Lambert, 12^th Di Scroope.

Port City Gala Day, held on 19^th November, was a great success. 58 visitors attended from all the bowling clubs in the Hastings Haven District.

Thank you for all the donations for the Trading Table and for all the hard workers behind the scenes.

Christmas is fast approaching and our Christmas Party will be held on 10^th December. Boxes are now available at the club in which you can place any donations you wish to make for the Christmas Hampers. Non-perishable grocery items would be most appreciated. If donating clothing, please mark clearly gender and size for adults and for children please mark clearly gender, size and toy suitability.

Next Tuesday 3^rd December will be our Presentation Day and we remind all recipients to please wear club uniform for the photographs.

We wish all our members who are unwell a speedy recovery and we hope to see you back bowling again as soon as possible.
