Port City WBC Weekly News

There was no Ladies Social Bowls on Tuesday 5th November, owing to the running of the Melbourne Cup. Our club held a Mixed Triples game, with champagne and orange juice being served on the greens. After the game we all enjoyed a great chicken salad lunch, with dessert, and more champagne and orange juice was served on the tables. The Noni B and Lowes fashion parade was greatly enjoyed and it was fun to see all the men who participated.

The “best dressed” was won by Ella Wright and 2nd and 3rd places went to non-bowlers.
Lucky Winner was taken out by Neville Stingel, Kay Stingel and Denise Gudgeon. Lucky losers were Joy Barry, Noelene Williams and Beth Hicks.

Many thanks to Robyn Biddle for organizing such a successful day and also to all the helpers who did a great job preparing and serving the food, ably led by Gail Carmody.
We look forward to welcoming our non-bowlers to morning tea next Tuesday 12th November.

If you wish to know what is happening at your club, please don’t forget our Quarterly Meeting, which will be held after bowls next Tuesday 12th November.
Port City’s Gala Day is on Tuesday 19th November and donations of gifts for spiders are always needed. Also, plants, cakes, craft items, or re-saleable items for the stall would be much appreciated.

Encouragement Day for players less than 5 years bowling is being held on Tuesday 26th November. Please have your entries in as soon as possible.
Presentation Day will be held on Tuesday 3rd December.

We wish all our members who are away owing to ill health a speedy recovery.
Christmas is fast approaching and our Christmas Party will be held on 10th December. Boxes are now available at the club in which you can place any donations you wish to make. Grocery items would be most appreciated. If donating clothing, please mark clearly gender and size for adults and for children please mark clearly gender, size and toy suitability.
