Port City Men's Bowling Club news report for the week ending Sunday 17th June.

Wednesday ,Thursday and Friday am saw the Prestige Pairs played the Place getters being :- 1^st Ken Paulsen (Westport ) and Tony Miller (Nth Haven ) 2^nd Daniel Dawes and Danny Barrett (Blackhead)3^rd Barry Smith (Port City) and Matt Cowan ( Toowoomba ) 4^th Dick Hadley and Brian Hitchcock(Stockton ) 5^th Jai Whelan (Port City) and Shane Globits (North Haven)

 Friday pm :-$10.00  J.Green and B.Ditchfield. $7.00  O.Cook and C.Halls.

Saturday  am :-$10-00 Winners, C.Daniels and D.Holihan, $7-00- C.Banks , B.Burge and H.Durrant.

Minor Singles Semi Finals :- J.Sallustio def S.Matheson,R.Bradbury def E.Dasczyk .

Saturday pm :- 1^st overall P.Ascott –Evans and B.Richardson ,Best card winners 1^st game C.Halls and J.Lamb , Best card winner 2^nd game F.Williams and K.Taylor ,Best card losers 1^st game D.Erickson and J.Carn ,T.Mawer and R.Morris (Vic) ,Best card losers 2^nd game T.Smith and K.Hercus ,J.Mitchell and G.Campbell .The Jackpot of $114.00 was not won by K.Taylor .

There will be no Social Bowls on Friday ,Saturday or Sunday am due to the Sixes and Sevens Tournament .

Sunday am :

The Final of the Minor Singles was played between J.Sallustio and R.Bradbury with the Winner being Rob (Dexter) Bradbury Congratulations to Rob and Commiserations to Jamie .

The Minor Pairs continued today with the Winners :- C.Halls and W.Kempster def J.Mitchell and G.Campbell ,D.Moxon def L.Thompson ,L.Scholz and AJ.Uptin def K.Lipscombe and C.Thornton ,T.Hill and T.Newell def B.Dugdale(sub) and W.Francis , N.Perry and D.Erickson def M.Garrihy and L.Collins ,G.McKay def R.Bowman ,P.Ascott-Evans def B.Thompson ,D.Lomas and J.Faddy def C.Bellenger and B.Riordan .

Sunday pm :- 74 players took to the greens in loverly sunny conditions with the Winners of the day:-$10.00 R.McCrow ,M.McCrow and J.O’Brien $7.00 F.Fairbrother , J.Fairbrother and E.Dasczyk .Lucky Envelopes 1^st R.Daniels 2^nd J.Barry 3^rd D.Holihan 4^th T.Wellings 5^th Z.Akermens .Raffle 1^st S.Limbert 2^nd M.Green 3^rd J.Barry .Next Week Jackpot will be $120.00 .

The $20,000-00 “Toohey`s” Grade 6 & 7 Triples scheduled for June 22-23-24 June has been full for a number of weeks with a number of reserve teams waiting for scratching`s to occur to get a start.

Vacancies still exist for the $7500-00 Port Macquarie Mixed pairs which will be played from 29^th June-1^st July 2012 at the three local clubs. Call any of the Bowls Co-Ordinators to book your spot. This is a great event in the Port Macquarie area and all bowlers should try and support this event.

We are still looking for volunteers to assist in the running of the State Grade Sevens Play-offs see Notice Board .

The RNSWBA Grade 7 State play-offs will be conducted at Port City from August 3-6. This event is one of the highlights of the year and Port City are honored to be hosting this most prestigious event. A sheet has been placed on the notice board seeking club members to volunteer for a number of positions to help to make this event run smoothly.

A special thank you to our greenkeepers who are a great team, for continually providing great greens to play on, especially after all the wet weather we have had. Our greens drain very quickly and that is the reason why we are still able to provide games when others are unable to do so. “Well done boys”
