Calling THE SHOT

The following is a news release from Bowls Australia regarding the new Bowls Victoria magazine that you may find of interest.

"Bowls Victoria today launched its new member magazine, THE SHOT. The magazine replaces its existing title, Bowls in Focus.
The content has undergone an overhaul with a new structure and regular features. Cover features will cater for the wider bowls audience, with the launch issue challenging bowlers to remember what it is like to play bowls for the first time.

The first bowler to be subject of the Profile section is 18-year-old hotshot Lisa Phillips, while the southern hemisphere’s oldest bowls club, Melbourne BC, comes under the ‘In the Club’ microscope.

Other regulars include Bits & Pieces with reviews and items of interest, a letters page for Bowls Victoria members to have their say and ‘A funny thing happened…’ a collection of amusing anecdotes from bowling greens around the state. In the first issue Bowls Victoria CEO, Peter Hanlon, is subject to the most revealing story.

As well as a new title and new content, the magazine has had a contemporary makeover thanks to the design studio at MMR (www.mmr.com.au).
