Port City Men's Bowling Club news letter for the week ending the 29th January.

Club Championship Fours Semi/Final :- R.Bradbury ,E.Dasczyk ,J.Judge and C.Buchanan def P.Gilligan ,K.Lipscombe ,T.Newell and B.Chapman. The men's fours final will be played on Friday 3^rd February at 9-00 a.m. with C.Buchanan`s team against G.McFarlane,R.Towers,G.Laird & P.Sheridan`s Team. “Good bowling to both teams”.

Friday :- 78 Bowlers had a game of bowls in warm and humid conditions. With the winners being :- $10.00 AJ.Uptin & B.Biddle $7.00 T.Newell & K.Lipscombe.The Jackpot of $126.00 was not won by C.Halls & J.Piola.

Saturday am :- $10.00 M.Walsh, C.Bowman & S.Devine.

Saturday pm :- Back to four bowl pairs till the pennant season ends ,Day winners were $10.00 B.Counsell & J.Cranna $7.00 B.Collis, K.Ison,& B.Dugdale.

Breaking news for Port City is that we have won the hosting rights to the RNSWBA State “7” a side junior  championships in August 2012.  All  zones  in the state participate in this most important event on the bowls calendar.

Pennant trials for Grades 6&7 bowlers will be played on Tuesday 7^th February 2012 starting at 5-00 p.m. with dress neat casual.

Grades 1 to 5 will be having an in house trial on Saturday 11^th February 2012 starting at 1-00 p.m. with dress being club colors or whites. Please assist the selectors, by ticking your name as soon as possible to indicate that you are available for trials and pennant games.

Sunday p.m. 88 Players took to the greens in hot & humid conditions with a number of visitors enjoying the hospitality of the Port City Club members. A big welcome to the team from Canada who played against President Reg Lucas`s team. Winner`s:G.Worley, Norma Schwartz, J.Milnes, B.Hicks, J.Burge, M.Wallis, F.Edwards, J.Barry & M.Edwards. Congratulations to our new district champions Jim Eccleston & Gary Russell on winning the RNSWBA Presidents Reserve Pairs at Lake Cathie on Saturday.

Don’t forget  that season 7  of corporate bowls will be starting in February 2012.so get your teams In filling fast . A special thank you to everyone that helped make these nights so successful, We are undoubtedly the corporate and barefoot leaders in promoting lawn bowls in the Port Macquarie District.

Because of District events ,the lack of green space ,Club Championship Singles and the upcoming Pennant Season we have decided to go back to four Bowl Pairs X 21 Ends on Saturday pm till further notice  .
