Kew Men's Bowling Club

Sunday morning saw the semi-finals of the club triples played two very good games of bowls was watched by a small crowd. Frank Raczka, Rod Quirk and Rocky Davis battled it out with Bill O'Donnell, Gary Hamilton and Mick Stuttard, in a game that could have gone either way Rocky's boys finished a little better to defeat Mick's lads. Gary Ruprecht, Mark Hammond and Terry Miles went up against John Gemmell, Howard Burrows and Dean Gemmell Terry's team got away to a great start and were never headed all though Dean's lads tried their hardest they could not catch Terry's lads.

Next Sunday morning starting at 10am the final will be played between Terry's team and Rocky's lads. The best of luck to both teams.

Saturday we held the Presidents Shield against North Haven and a great time was had by all who participated, it was the 4th time the Shield has been played and after the win by Kew we are level pegging 2 all, next year the shield will be held at North Haven so there may be a change in the results.

Monday Monthly pairs are on the 6th of February there are a few spots left, get your names in so as not to be disappointed.

Friday cashpot triples and the JP stays in the bank and is worth $260 on the 10th of February. Rink winners were Reggie Robb, Cliff Kerr and Dean Gemmell, the runner up money went to Ray Pantlin, Daryle Barr and Bob the hand breaker Kennett. Voucher winners were Kim Thompson, Ian Orr, Peter Laing and Bob Sims.

Wednesday social and picking up the loot were Ian Orr, Cliff Kerr and Charles Doyle, the runner up spot was taken by John Gemmell, Trevor Boyle and Mark Hammond. voucher winners were Warren Barnes, Frosty, Ray Pantlin and Dave Jones.

The start of the minor singles has been put back a week to Sunday the 19th of February owing to events being held at the club on the 12th of February.

Bowls this week Wednesday social and Saturday cash pot triples names in by 11.30 12.30 start both days mufti dress all welcome.
