Port City WBC August Newsletter

PRESIDENT   DEB’S   BITS  &  PIECES
What a whirlwind month we have had.  The AGM has been and gone for another year.  Some changes have taken place and I welcome all the newcomers to the Committee and of course the ladies who have stayed on in various positions for another year.  I thank you all!!

We proudly represented our Club and District in the City vs. Country, where we handled ourselves well, despite extremely trying weather conditions.  We played and won the Regional Open and Senior Pairs.  I was lucky enough to be able to go and watch the girls in action.  A truly great performance.

We now have representation in the State Open and Senior Fours and the Open and Senior Pairs, with the Singles still to come????

Don't forget come October all roads lead to Tuncurry.             SUPPORT SUPPORT SUPPORT.

                                                                                                                                      Cheer loudly and proudl
Our Club is about to shrug off its renovation cloak and reveal the much anticipated changes.  Should be an exciting time for all members. (Remember change is inevitable except from a vending machine).

SAYING OF THE MONTH…….
The way some people find fault you would think there was a reward!!!!!
and Friends are the sunshine of our lives.

PRACTICE/ COACHING

Friday Morning 10am with Margaret Doyle
The only effective way to play both backhand and forehand well, is to remember that the delivery action is exactly the same.

There is a different visual effect dependent on your being right or left-handed.  The direction you are facing (ie the correct target or aiming line) when delivering your bowl is the most important consideration.

To everyone celebrating their birthday
in August we hope your day will be a very special one.

To all our members not in the best of health

at the moment we wish you a speedy recovery

and back to good health very soon.

I would also like to thank Barbara Standen for the great job she did as Publicity Officer.  She has left big shoes to fill.  Thank you Barbara

Cheers,

Publicity Officer

joke……..

A man rang up his local bowling club, and said "Is that the local bowling club?"
And his reply was "It depends where you're calling from."
