Congratulations to Judy Brady from Port Macquarie City on winning the Final of the District Singles competition last week.
The competition was conducted over three days at Port City, Hibbard Sports Club and the North Haven clubs, with the semi-finals and final being played at North Haven last Thursday. The semi-final between Anne Wilson (Lake Cathie WBC) and Karen MacFarlane (Port City WBC) was an absolute cliff-hanger with the lead changing several times before Karen earned her place in the Final. In the second semi-final, Port City players Judy Brady and Eveline Ramsay staged an absorbing match containing some outstanding bowls with Judy Brady emerging the victor.

The Final was a great exhibition of draw bowling from both ladies with Judy emerging with winner. She will now contest the Region 2 Singles against winners from the Kempsey/Macleay and Lower North Coast districts at Tuncurry Sports on 4th August. We wish her good luck and good bowling.
Thanks must go to the host clubs for their hospitality and co-operation, and to the District Match committee for all the work that goes into conducting these competitions. Well done.
Thanks to Ann Butlin, Publicity Officer HHDWBA, for this report.
