Bowls NSW Newsletter - Mid April 2022

Bowls NSW Ltd Newsletter
Welcome to the mid-month April edition of the Bowls NSW Newsletter!

In this edition we recap the 2021 Women’s State Championships and congratulate our newest State Champions across the seven disciplines! Winners of the State Singles, Pairs, Triples, Fours and Mixed Pairs now have the opportunity to represent NSW at the Australian Championships in October this year.

Events are still flying through, and next on the calendar is the 2021 State Junior Championships held at Warilla Bowls and Recreation Club. Some of the best junior bowlers in NSW will compete for the title of becoming a State Junior champion, and Bowls NSW will be live streaming select matches throughout the event. A schedule of selected matches is available in this newsletter.

Following the Championships is a Junior Coaching Clinic which promises to be an exciting event, and we encourage junior bowlers of any ability to attend! The clinic will be run by current Australian Jackaroo and NSW/ACT Pathways Coach Ben Twist.

Women’s State Championships Recap

The long-awaited 2021 Women’s State Championships have taken place at South Tamworth and West Tamworth Bowling Club, with eighteen new State Champions across seven disciplines being crowned.

For the first time since 2016, we saw a different club victorious in each of the seven disciplines, showcasing the breadth of bowling talent currently present within NSW.

Unsurprisingly, the quality of matches on display throughout the Championships was incredible, with players performing exceptionally well on the superb South Tamworth and West Tamworth greens. For those who were unable to watch the matches live, you can still watch select matches on the Bowls NSW live stream through our Facebook page.

Bowls NSW would like to thank South Bowlo Tamworth, their staff, volunteers and bowlers for accommodating participants over all ten days of play. Their efforts ensured that the 2021 Women’s State Championships were a huge success.
