The following is a news release from Bowls Australia regarding the Australian Open. "Now that the entries have closed, the task of collating all of those entries and putting them into a meaningful draw begins for Bowls Australia staff, lead by veteran Australian Jackaroo and now BA's Events and Competitions Manager Mark Casey. As Mark described to us, with an event of this size this can be quite a lengthy process! "Once the entries for the Open close, the most important period of the preparation process begins. Some of the processes that our staff must go through include combing the entry lists for any errors or issues, determining the structure of each discipline, fitting this structure into our initial draft schedules and then randomly allocating each entry into the draw." Casey said. Once all of this work is complete, it's a matter of confirming the structure with our wonderful host clubs and double, triple and quadrouple checking the structure to make sure it is as close to perfect as possible. The good news is that we are well into this process, and we hope to release the sectional draw to all parcitipants in the week of May 16!"
