Test Your Knowledge
The previous question was: "Can a team's coach go on the green to inspect the head prior to giving advise ?"Polling showed the following results: Yes - 1 votes: Yes (if approved by the umpire) - 4 votes: No - 12 votes.
The majority were correct with the "No" vote. Refer law 44. The coach.....can give advice to a player during the course of play as long as: (law 44.4) "the person giving the advice does so from outside the boundaries of the green." No provision is given in the laws for the coach to go on the green of play.

Men's Zone 14 Minor Championships
The Zone 14 Champion of Club Champions Singles & Pairs semi finals and finals were played at Westport today.
Singles: Phil Dacre (Port City) defeated Howard Burrows (Kew) in the final.
Pairs: W. Malcolm & K. Rivett (Westport) defeated R. Host & B. Stirling in the final.

Men's State Championships - Singles
The Bowls NSW Champion of Club Champions Singles commenced today under ideal weather conditions at the Port City BC. The first round of 16 and the quarter finals were completed with the following progressing to the semi-finals tomorrow (Thurs 19th) at 9:00 am.Semi-Finals: Chris Herden (South Tamworth) vs. Darren Morrison (Terrigal) and Nathan Dawson (Kurri Kurri) vs. Aaron Teys (Warilla).

Men's State Championships - Update
"Nick Golledge and Chris Herden (South Tamworth) have claimed the 2015 NSW State Champion of Club Champions Paris title, beating Gareth Lewis and Neil Burkett (Merrylands) in the final at Port City Bowling Club."

Men's Bowls NSW State Championships
The Bowls NSW State Champion of Club Champions Singles and Pairs will be held on Monday 16th - Thursday 19th Nov. at Port City BC.Click here for full details on the Bowls NSW web site and link to the results during play.
Zone 14 will be represented by Adam Davis & Ken Rostron (Nambucca Heads) in the pairs (Mon - Tues) while Ian 'Rocky' Stone (Kempsey RSL) is playing in the singles (Wed - Thurs).
Many of the top State players will be competing including Shannon Gittoes, Aaron Teys & Matt Miles in the singles and Neil Burkett, Steve Glasson & Aron Sheriff in the pairs. Play is knockout starting with a round of 16 on each opening day.

The rain has settled in today at Port Macquarie and play has been cancelled in the LNC Minor singles C of C Champions at Westport.Dave Griffiths, Westport, advises that a reschedule date for the semi finals and the final will be advised.

In round 1 this morning Howard Burrows def. Tony Mallia and Jarrod Wilson def. Barry Wills.
The quarter finals this afternoon had the following results: Burrows def. Wilson, Bill Reid forfeit from James O'Reilly, Phil Dacre def. Graham Lynes and Barry Ratcliff def. Barry Parks.
The semi finals Sunday morning will see Burrows vs. Reid and Dacre vs. Ratcliff.
