Women's Regional Pennant Play-Offs

The following is a news release covering the recent Women's Region 2 Pennant with thanks to Ann Butlin, Publicity Officer, Hastings Haven District WBA.

"North Haven Bowling Club was the venue recently for the Region 2 Pennant play-offs.
Lots of enthusiastic supporters arrived to cheer on their teams; all playing for the opportunity to contest the State Pennant Finals.

Grades 1 to 4 were all represented and the competition was intense.  Winning Pennant sides from Lower North Coast, Hastings Haven and Kempsey/Macleay districts were in attendance, and matches were played in a round robin format to decide the winners in grades 2,3 and 4.

Grade 1 had only two sides: North Haven and Forster.  North Haven emerged the winner after a nail-biting finish to the match.

Grade 2 was contested by North Haven, South West Rocks and Wingham, with South West Rocks the winner.

Grade 3 contained Port Macquarie City, Tuncurry and South West Rocks, which was won by Port Macquarie City.

Grade 4 comprised sides from Lake Cathie, Kempsey/Macleay RSL and Forster, with Kempsey/Macleay RSL an outstanding winner.

Congratulations to all teams competing for winning their District pennants. To the winners today, you now represent your Club at the State Pennant finals at Bombaderry in August. We wish you good luck, good bowling and ENJOY.
