Week ending Sunday 1st March 2020
Monday’s bowls unfortunately was washed out. However, Thursday dawned a nice sunny day and bowls went ahead with the winners being Steve Grimshaw, Charles Duthie, Denis Begley and Bob Fischer. The Runners up were Alan Jackson, David Pateman, Graham Denton and Des Hancox and the lucky losers Paul MacNamara, Mike Ryan, Don Shelsher and John Bate.
Saturday saw the start of the Pennant season, but the results were unavailable for this article.
There were some really good, close games in the Major Singles Championships played on Friday. Tom Reeves defeated Denis Begley, Steve Philp defeated Des Hancox, Ron Thompson defeated Robert Tucker, Ted Jobson defeated Ken Pritchard, John Fuller defeated Mal Sutton and Gary Knox defeated Bob Fischer.
