WEEK ENDING SUNDAY 20TH

The Handicap Pairs
Championship games are well under way. The following teams have won through to
the second round; Phil Smith and Roger Miles, Frank Ryan and Denis Begley,
David Pateman and Peter Slattery, Bill Bailey and John Jarvis, Ken Pritchard
and Jim McGill, and Geoff Worley and Vic Ley. Some of those games were played
in gale force winds off Antarctica, proving that bowlers are made of sturdy
stock.
On Monday, Denise and
Reg Penney teamed up with Paddy Matthews to take the prize-money with Paul
Dewson, Ross Creed and Mike Storrier pocketing the lucky losers envelopes.
Thursday saw Des
Hancox, Bob Kohut and Graham Howard the grinners, as were runners-up Graham
Platt, John Archibald and Peter Teiffel. The lucky loser’s leftovers went to
Peter Slattery, Harry Weegen and Ken Taylor.
John Morgan and Brian
Sloggett were Saturday’s winners with Phil Innes and Norm Malzard happy to
lose.
