Port City WBC Weekly News 28th March

Tuesday 26th March was a lovely sunny day for both Social Bowls and Pennants and President Barbara welcomed all the visiting pennant players.

We were reminded that entries for Club Pairs close at 11.00 am next Tuesday and play will commence on Tuesday 23rd April.
Morgan Solman-Stewart celebrated a birthday this week.

Chairman of the board Reg Lucas announced that our new CEO, Russell Stockham, startedyesterday.
 
The 2nd round of the Club Singles was played on Saturday 23rd March and the results are as follows :- D Amor def. B Hodgson, F Martin def L Bishell, C White def. C Bowman, J McKay def F Schollum, B Schubert def J Wallis, K McFarlane def. J Brady - J Munson def E Ramsay, M Doyle def E Wright..
J Munson will play M Doyle on Thursday 28th March, Carol White will play J McKay on Tuesday 2nd April and D Amor will play F Martin and B Schubert will play K McFarlane on Thursday 4th April.
Sunday 14th April is Autism Day and we will be holding a charity game of triples in the afternoon, with all proceeds going to the Autism Society. You are requested to wear something blue if possible.
We will be starting a raffle next Sunday 31st March with proceeds for the Autism Society.
An open forum is to be held at the Bowling Club on Tuesday 9th April at 4.00 pm to discuss with the Board Club Redevelopment Plans, which include loss of Green 1 and all members are encouraged to attend.
15th - 21st April we will be celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Port City Bowling Club and many events will be played that week.
On the morning of Thursday 18th April (during our anniversary week) there will be a "Skirts versus Shirts" event and guests will be Steve Glasson and Wayne Turley. This will be a single entry event. There will also be a bowls exhibition and lunch at a cost of $10 for the whole day.
