Greg Kelly has written an excellent article regarding the changes in bowls membership and activity over several years.

As he notes although affiliated bowls membership is declining the participation in informal social activities ie barefoot bowls is increasing.

I fully support his suggestion that "The need for a well structured membership drive from the state and club administrators across the entire State is well overdue to increase membership."
