NSW Review of Zones for Men's and Women's Bowls


Bowls NSW and the NSWWBA have released an initial discussion paper regarding boundaries for Zones in NSW. Our area, defined in the paper as Area 2 (Mid North Coast) is similar to the men's Zone 14 except the Greater Taree area is now included.

President Barbara announced that the entry sheets for District Events are on the board and will close on 15th November.
The Pennant Sheet is also on the board and will be taken down on 22nd October.

Great News for Port City

Bowls NSW has announced that Port City will host the 2014 Men's Grade 2 State Pennant finals in August.

This is a major achievement for our club and it no doubt result in a "magic" weekend for all involved.

CHS Side Retains Shield

After 3 days of excellent bowling the NSW Combined High School (CHS) side retains the Neville Schwartz shield for another year.

Lovely weather on Tuesday 10th September for Social Bowls, as well the Minor Pairs Final. Congratulations to Barbara Owens and Eleanor Russell on winning the Minor Pairs Championship and also to Jenny Devitt and Roslyn Stone on being runnners-up. These two girls are only in their first year of bowling and are showing real promise.

Port City Bowling Club Ltd. AGM


The annual general meeting of the Port City Bowling Club Ltd will be held on Saturday 21st September commencing at 9:00 am in the club rooms. Note the meeting will start at 9:00 am rather than the normal 9:30 am. (perhaps the board anticipates a long meeting!)

There are 4 special resolutions, that all members should have received, for consideration at the meeting and I would encourage all interested members to attend the meeting and have their say.

State Senior Side Announced


The NSW Senior State Side to contest the Australian Senior Sides Championship at Belmont Bowls Club, Victoria from 23 to 25 October has been announced.

2013 NSW CHS Exchange Series at Port City


The annual NSW CHS exchange series will be held at Port City next week from Tuesday 10th - Thursday 12 September. 

It's always great to watch the juniors in this event as they compete for the Neville Schwartz trophy.
