Port City WBC Weekly News 2nd May


Tuesday 30th April was another lovely day for bowls, with Pennants, Club Pairs and Social Bowls being played.
As President Barbara and Secretary Judy were at Kempsey Heights to watch Jennifer Munson and Pat Light compete in the Regional Play-off at Kempsey Heights, Vice President Ann Kirk did the announcements.


Congratulations to Jennifer  and Pat  who won the Regional Pairs Play-off convincingly.
Ann congratulated Westport and North Haven on their wins today in the Pennants.

It was great to see Anne Connell back at the club after her visit to hospital.
Rhonda Evans celebrated her birthday on 29th April.

60’s Club Winners – 1st – Maureen Carkeek (Westport), 2nd – Elaine Hercus, 3rd Grace Greenaway.
The date for the Handicap Triples is 30th July.
The sheet is on the board for Panther’s Gala Day to be held on 22nd May. It is never too soon to put your name down as this is the way most of the money is raised for District Events.
The men’s club are looking for markers for Port City Singles games on Monday 13thand Tuesday 14th May. Please put your name on the list if you are available.
The Club Fours are now open for entries and will close on Tuesday 7th May.

We are short of spiders and would appreciate your donations.
The next Umpires’ Discussion Group Meeting will be held at Lake Cathie Bowling Club on Monday 20 May 2013 commencing at 9.30am.  The meeting is open to anyone interested in learning more about the Laws of our sport or who may be interested in becoming an Umpire.
Entry Forms are now available for the Versatility Fives to be played on Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th June. The entry cost will be $40 per person for both days.
Entry Forms are in the folder for the Port Panthers Open Triples to be played on 3rd July.
The sheet is on the board for district Nominations.

Names in or out of the club by 8.00 am for Social Bowls.
