Port City 'Classic' Singles entry list


The prestigious  Port City 'Classic' Singles is only 2 weeks away and is played from Monday 13th May - Thursday 16th May. With $16,500 prize money this tournament attracts many top state and local players as you can see from the entry list.

Men's Pennant Round 8 at Port City

 
What a beautiful day in Port Macquarie! It was ideal for bowls with 3 sides at home and scores as follows:

Grade 1: Port City def. North Haven 6 - 0 (66 - 42)
Grade 2: Port City def. South West Rocks 6 - 0 (68 - 53)

Grade 5: Port City lost to North Haven/1 1 - 5 (51 - 70)

Port City Men's Bowling Club news report for the week ending Sunday 21 April. 
What an absolute brilliant week of bowls we have had for our 75th Birthday celebrations with fine weather all week.

Anniversary Official Luncheon Enjoyed by All


The final day of the Port City 75th Anniversary week included social bowls in the morning followed by the official luncheon. 

The "Bowlers" cake beautifully decorated by Beth Schubert took a prominent place at the head table. Although it was a shame to cut this work of art all had a taste to finish off a luncheon enjoyed by all.
   
Members and guests expressed their appreciation and congratulations for this celebration to honor the 75 years as a successful bowling club.

Port City Anniversary Women's Triples

2MC Breakfast with Mark Strachan


The 75th Anniversary got off to a great start at Port City on Friday with a 2MC live broadcast this morning and breakfast for lucky winners of a competition with radio announcer Mark Strachan.

The 75th Anniversary Party Continues


The 3 Amigos - Steve, Charlie & Wayne 

The 75th Anniversary celebrations continues with the "Shirts vs. Skirts" bowls held on Thursday. Special guests were top bowlers Steve Glasson and Wayne Turley.

The "Shirts" took out the competition 295 with the "Skirts" not far behind on 267.

Port City WBC Weekly News 18th April





 
Last Sunday 14th April the club held a Mixed Triples Event in aid of the Autism Society and we were pleased to be able to present a cheque for over $1800 to this worthy cause. Also, the proceeds from the spider and money raised from wrong biases on Tuesday 16th April were presented to the Autism Society in the amount of $165.

Ladies Day in the 75th Anniversary Bowls Celebrations

75th Anniversary Bowls has Started

The bowls program for the Club's 75th Anniversary has commenced with a mixed pairs shoot out today followed by a BBQ lunch. This has been followed the staff fun bowls day.

Well done to Jan and Robert for their win this morning.

Tomorrow will see Ladies Triples followed by lunch.

The skies were overcast all afternoon at Port City but all games were completed before the light showers started late in the day.

Port City Men's Veterans Day

Easter Saturday 3-Bowl Pairs

On Saturday 30th March we held an Easter 3 bowls pairs tournament and welcomed players from North Haven, Old Bar, Park Beach, Tuncurry, Westport, Kew, Manning Point and Lake Cathie.

On Tuesday, 9th April President Barbara welcomed all social bowlers and visiting pennant players to the club. Unfortunately social bowls was washed out for the day, but pennants continued after a short time off the green owing to heavy rain and eventually were able to complete their matches.

Tuesday 2nd April was a beautiful day for Social Bowls and Pennants competitions.
President Barbara announced that the 2's team win today in the pennants gave them the flag.

Information Forum on Club Redevelopment



An open forum regarding the Port City Club renovation plan will be held in the club rooms on Tuesday 9th April at 4:00 pm. 

Further information regarding the agenda & format for the meeting will be posted when they are available.

The renovation plans are posted in the front lobby of the club.

All interested members are encouraged to attend this meeting.
