Port City WBC Weekly News 7th March

Vice-President Ann Kirk stood in for President Barbara and did the announcements.
Ann said that she felt that all the pennant players would play well today as the weather is so good after all the rain we have had.

Ann announced the sad news that June Hook's husband had passed away.

Happier news was that Barbara Riordan and and husband Mick are celebrating their 60th Wedding Anniversary today.

Entries for the Club Singles closed at 11.00 today. Play will commence on 19th March. Entries are now open for Club Pairs.

We were advised that the Regional Pairs Final that was to have been played on Tuesday 7th May has been brought forward one week to Tuesday 30th April. We encourage many ladies to go to Kempsey Heights to see Jennifer Munson and Pat Light play in this event.

Carol White for winning the Hastings Haven District Singles,
Judy Brady, Carol Bowman, Barbara Barrett and Debbie Amor, Runners-up in the Hastings Haven District Open Fours and Robyn Hehir, Shirley Devine and Margaret Walsh - Runners-up in the District Triples.

Veteran's Day will be held at North Haven on Monday 8th April. This is always a great day, so be sure to put your name down to enter.

We were advised that there are many tournaments coming up this year and to check the folder for details.
