Port City WBC News 1st March

 

There was brilliant sunshine with a gentle breeze on Tuesday last when President Shirley welcomed pennant teams from North Haven Westport and Lake Cathie as well as our own social bowlers.

Results of pennant games played on Tuesday 28th February. Grade 2 Port City 2 (1) defeated North Haven - Port City 2 (2) defeated Port City 2 (3). Grade 4 Port City 4 (1) defeated Westport - Grade 5 Lake Cathie defeated Port City. Well done to all players.

Marie Bignell and Joy Barry were wished a very happy birthday and presented with a voucher.

Members were then reminded that the Club Singles Championship entries close on 6th March with play to commence on 20th March.

Easter Carnival entries are still being received by Carol Bowman - date 7th April 3 bowl pairs 3 games of 12 ends $30 entry fee.

The Regional Pennant play - offs will be held at Port City Club for the first time on 15th / 16th May. Put the date in your diary as you will witness some great bowling. We will need lots of helpers too.

The next non playing members morning tea will be held on Tuesday 13th March at 10.30. Come along and have a chit chat with the girls and a cuppa.

If you are able to come along and cheer our pennant girls on to victory it would be much appreciated. So show your support to these teams when you are able.
